Tungsten Carbide Roll Ring/ Wc Ring Customized

Tungsten Carbide Rings are a type of tool material made from tungsten carbide and cobalt, known for their high hardness and wear resistance. These rings are commonly used as work rings in stands of pre-finishing rolling mills, finishing rolling mills, and reducing sizing mills.

Usage Instructions
1. Choose the appropriate rings based on your mill's requirements.
2. Ensure proper installation by following the instructions carefully. Incorrect fitting between the ring and arbor, or improper spacing, can cause failure. Check that the rings meet technical specifications and clean them, along with the arbor and spacer rings, before use. Avoid hitting the rings with hammers or hard objects during assembly.
3. Cooling is essential to reduce thermal corrosion, fatigue, and stress on the roll rings. The recommended cooling parameters are: water temperature below 25°C, pressure of 5-6 bar, and a flow rate of 24-30 m³/hr per stand. Water should be sprayed radially at an angle of 15-30 degrees relative to the rotation direction of the rings. The jet width should be twice the groove width, and it should directly hit the grooves without scattering or misting.

Water Quality Requirements
For YGH series: pH 7.2 medium or weak alkali water
For YGR series: pH 7.2 or weak acid water
The solid particle content in the water should be less than 15 mg/L.


Even with optimal cooling conditions, fatigue cracks may appear. To prevent crack propagation, re-machine the pass when the crack reaches 0.2 mm deep. Failure to do so could lead to unexpected breakage.

Recommended Pass Life
Pre-finishing rolling mill stands: 3500-4000 tons
Finishing rolling mill stands (1-2): 1800-2500 tons
Finishing rolling mill stands (3-4): 1800-2500 tons
Finishing rolling mill stands (5-6): 1500-2000 tons
Finishing rolling mill stands (7-8): 1500-2000 tons
Finishing rolling mill stands (9-10): 600-1200 tons
Reducing sizing mill stands: 600-1200 tons


Groove Repair
To completely remove fatigue cracks, the pass must be re-dressed sufficiently. Here are some recommended re-dressing depths:
Roll rings for 9-10 finishing stands: 0.4-0.6 mm
Roll rings for 1-8 finishing stands: 0.7-1.2 mm
Roll rings for pre-finishing stands: 1.2-2.0 mm
