Compared with the traditional S35MC diesel engine, the new 6S35MC-C9.2 diesel engine absorbs the internationally advanced research results and has the following characteristics: First, the overall design is compact and the volume is smaller; Second, the ultra-long stroke, the cylinder is improved. Combustion pressure reduces fuel consumption and is more energy-saving and environmentally friendly; third, lower speed, higher power, up to 5220 KW at full speed; fourth, long maintenance and maintenance cycle, further reducing maintenance costs. This model low-speed marine diesel engine is a two-stroke main engine designed by MAN for China's offshore transportation. It can be widely used in various types of offshore vessels of 6000-30000DWT, and is fully in line with the International Maritime Organization (IMO) 2011 implementation of NOX emissions. The new emission standard Tier II emission requirements have broad market prospects.
The cylinder block of the 35MC-C9.2 diesel engine is a six-cylinder overall structure. Compared with the previous models, it has the characteristics of complex structure, large wall thickness difference, high performance requirements and high quality requirements. The material of the cylinder is changed from the usually used gray cast iron to ductile cast iron, and the mechanical properties are greatly improved in terms of tensile strength, elastic modulus and elongation.
The 6S35MC-C9.2 diesel engine delivered this time will be installed on the 28000DWT bulk carrier built by Zhejiang Changhong Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. for Changjiang Transportation Technology Co., Ltd. as the propulsion host. The first 6S35MC-C9.2 diesel engine was officially submitted for inspection from the technical agreement to the product, and it took only 10 months. From the actual test data of the bench test, the design structure, strength and performance of the first 6S35MC-C9.2 diesel engine fully met the requirements, and the shipyard, shipowner, ship design unit and classification society agreed. Successfully developed and produced the world's first 6S35MC-C9.2 diesel engine, marking the Yichang Shipboard mainframe manufacturing capacity and technology research and development level once again jumped to a new height.
