Standard Expanded Metal

Expanded metal - Light and Small Meshes


Light and small meshes are used in applications such as air filtration, ceiling panels, and machine guards. Small mesh is typically 3/16" to ½" SWD pattern. Available materials include cold rolled steel, galvanized steel, stainless, aluminum, and copper.
Expanded metal - INTERMEDIATE MESH


Intermediate patterns are used for applications such as lockers, chimney caps, vents, patio furniture and grilles. Typical patterns include ½" to ¾" SWD. Available materials include cold rolled steel, galvanized steel, stainless, aluminum, and copper..


EXPANDED METAL - LARGE, HEAVY & GRATING MESHES


Large and heavy patterns are used in applications such as park and recreation, security fencing, machine guards, shelving, cat walks, and automotive racks. Typical patterns include ¾" to 1 ½" and larger. Available materials include cold rolled steel, galvanized steel, stainless, aluminum, and copper.


The LEVELMASTER: Our flattening and leveling line produces the finest stainless, carbon, and aluminum expanded metal in the industry. Flattened grating produced on the LevelMaster is a Metalex exclusive!


EXPANDED METAL - Micro Mesh


Expanded metals are being put to new uses in highly technical products. We are developing smaller and more perfect patterns to meet the demands of industry for tighter and more precise specifications for diamond pattern, thickness, hole size and workability.


Micromesh provides superior heat transfer characteristics. It can be made acoustically neutral for applications such as dent guards in audio speakers. It can be flattened to reduce thickness and provide a smoother surface; made non-nesting to allow wrapping on itself without losing air flow capability; annealed for improved formability; and coated with either metallic or organic compounds.


Micromesh is manufactured from carbon steel, stainless steel, copper and aluminum.

Barrier mesh protects against break-ins and break-outs. It safeguards walls and ceilings in homes, apartments, offices, stores, storage areas and correctional facilities.
