Cummins Inc. Announces Production of Dual Fuel Engines to Be Launched Next Year

Cummins has announced that it will begin production of dual-fuel engines next year with operating power of 597-2610 kilowatts.
It is reported that these dual-fuel engines will use a common integrated control that can be seamlessly switched from diesel to dual-fuel. The Cummins QSK50 Tier 2 engine for offshore engineering will be the first product line to be converted to dual fuels, and other engines in the QSK series will be converted to dual fuels.
The default operating mode for this engine is diesel. The operator can select the mixture of diesel and natural gas on the control panel, then the engine will switch to dual fuel mode and automatically select the appropriate speed. Cummins said that in the field of marine engineering, variable speed pressure pumps usually consume a lot of fuel. Cummins' dual-fuel engines will provide significant fuel savings and enable operators to see a significant return on investment within six months of operation.
