Fushun Petrochemical Chemical Plastics Factory has completed the industrialization test of its 5,000-ton-per-year styrene-butadiene transparent impact resistance resin production line. The granulation system was upgraded with the first domestic underwater granulation technology, and all processes were successfully launched by the end of last month, achieving a smooth start-up. The successful operation of this 5,000-ton-per-year facility marks a significant milestone in the development of domestic underwater granulation technology. It confirms that the technology and equipment are reliable, especially the gear pump and pelletizer—key components of the system. This achievement demonstrates that the long-standing technical challenges in the first domestically developed underwater pelletizing system have been fully resolved. It also represents a major step forward in the industrialization of Ding-Ben transparent impact resin, a key project under China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC). By implementing underwater granulation technology, the overall technical performance of the styrene-butadiene resin is expected to be significantly improved. Key indicators such as product haze, impact strength, and others are anticipated to meet or even exceed international standards. Currently, the factory is continuing to optimize the system, focusing on resolving issues related to extruder load matching. The goal is to achieve stable and continuous operation within this year, further enhancing the efficiency and reliability of the production process.
