A Beam Expander is any optical system designed to increase the diameter of a Laser beam. In most cases, the term is taken to mean a telescope designed to take a small-diameter collimated beam input beam and produce a larger diameter collimated output beam, thus reducing the divergence of the beam. The beam expander consists of a negative input lens and a positive objective. The expansion factor is the ratio of the focal length of the two lenses.

Wärtsilä delivers fuel tanks for the UK's first LNG powered ferry
Recently, Wärtsilä delivered a fuel tank for the UK's first LNG powered ferry.
It is reported that the ship was built by the shipyard of Ferguson, Scotland. The owner of the ship is Caledonian Ship Assets Co., Ltd., and has ordered the construction of two series of 102-meter dual-fuel ferries.
The LNG fuel tank delivered this time is supplied by Wärtsilä, from Shanghai, China, to the Suez Canal, with a storage capacity of 147 cubic meters and a weight of 88 tons. LNG fuel will help the ferry to reduce pollution emissions.
According to the owner of Caledonian, the pressurized fuel tank is made of double-layer stainless steel and perlite insulation and is the largest single component required to build the ferry.
The first ferry "MV Glen Sannox" is expected to be operational in the second half of 2018.
