Elburn receives new Alexis Squad
Alexis Fire Equipment has recently delivered a brand-new apparatus to the Elburn and Countryside Fire Protection District. The unit is now officially assigned as Squad 301, and a full breakdown of its specifications can be viewed HERE. This state-of-the-art Fire Truck features a Spartan Gladiator Classic MFD cab with a 10-inch raised roof, offering enhanced visibility and comfort for the crew. The body of the unit is a 20-foot walk-around design, equipped with roll-up doors for easy access to equipment and storage.
On top of the body, the squad is fitted with a Wil-Burt light tower, ensuring maximum illumination during nighttime operations or in low-visibility conditions. The unit is set to replace an older 1990/1985 Ford/McCoy Miller MDR, marking a significant upgrade in both technology and performance for the department.
The new squad has already generated a lot of excitement among local firefighters and residents alike. It’s not just about the new look—it's about the improved capabilities that will help keep the community safer. With modern features, better ergonomics, and advanced safety systems, this new apparatus is a major step forward for the Elburn FPD.
