Right now, our team is only able to operate with two members on duty at a time — one full-time Firefighter Paramedic and one part-time Firefighter EMT or Paramedic. This means that if we get a second call while we're already responding to one, we have to rely on neighboring departments like South Chicago Heights or Crete to assist. That’s why you might often see an ambulance from those areas coming to your home. With the growing number of emergency calls and longer transport times to our local hospitals, our community is becoming more vulnerable. The proposed levy increase would allow us to add a second ambulance and fully staff Station 2, which is located behind the police station. This is crucial because it will ensure faster response times for residents on the other side of the tracks — people who currently face delays in getting the help they need. We’re asking for your support when the public safety levy comes up for a vote on April 6th.
