Fujian Provincial Meizhou Bay Chlor-Alkali Co., Ltd. has made a significant investment of 136 million yuan in its expansion project, which includes the construction of a 40,000-ton-per-year ion-exchange membrane caustic soda production line and a 20,000-ton-per-year propylene oxide facility. The civil engineering work for the project is already fully underway, with an anticipated completion and commissioning within this year. Currently, the company produces approximately 45,000 tons of ion-exchange membrane caustic soda annually, along with 40,000 tons of polyether, as well as liquid chlorine and hydrochloric acid. Once the expansion is completed, the annual output of ion-exchange membrane caustic soda will increase to 85,000 tons, while the new propylene oxide unit will add an additional 20,000 tons per year. This expansion is expected to significantly enhance the company’s capacity to supply raw materials for the plastics processing industry in Fujian, supporting local industrial growth and improving market competitiveness. The project also reflects the company's commitment to expanding its product portfolio and meeting increasing demand from downstream sectors.
