Recently, during an acceptance meeting organized by the National Defense Science and Technology Commission, 704 successfully passed the evaluation for 704 self-developed MBR (Membrane Bioreactor) sequencing batch biochemical wastewater treatment and membrane separation technology devices. These advanced systems combine a sequencing batch biochemical process with membrane filtration to effectively treat domestic sewage and kitchen grey water. The expert panel praised the technology, stating that it has filled a critical gap in the domestic market and is now at an internationally leading level. The project was initiated in 2003 when 704 took on the challenge of developing batch-type biochemical wastewater treatment and membrane separation systems. Following extensive technical and market research, as well as principle prototype testing, product prototype development, and type approval trials, the team successfully completed the prototype in July 2005. The device was then approved by the China Classification Society and received both a national invention patent and several practical application patents. This achievement marks a significant milestone in China's efforts to advance environmental protection technologies and reduce reliance on imported solutions. With its high efficiency and reliability, this system is expected to play a key role in improving wastewater management across various sectors.
