The product design can be completed in the fourth quarter, and the mass production will be completed in the next year.
Observing the LED market conditions this year, under the influence of the European debt and the US debt crisis, the consumer market mentality tends to be cautious and conservative. In addition, LEDs and CCFLs still have obvious price differences, affecting consumers' willingness to purchase, and this year's global LEDTV shipments. Although the volume has doubled compared with last year, the overall penetration rate has not reached 50 or more as expected, and the annual estimate is about 40.
However, including the upstream sapphire substrate and wafer supply, the price of supply exceeds demand due to the year of last year. Since the substantial expansion in the second half of last year, the MOCVD process has also been upgraded from 2 inches to more than 4 inches. This year, the production capacity has been greatly improved. The price also sees a fall.
In addition, EnergyStar will continue to push the power consumption of the new machine by 30% for the new model TV launched next year, in order to meet the energy-saving standard standards. For example, the power consumption standards of 32-inch and 42-inch TVs are respectively 78 watts this year. And 115 watts, will be reduced to 55 watts and 81 watts next year, will effectively improve the penetration rate of LED products to replace CCFL next year.
Dongbei expects that LEDTV will have obvious product segmentation in the future. High-end TVs are mainly used for thin and light, 3D and networking. Medium and low-end TVs are not demanded by light and thin products. The main price is low, emphasizing energy saving. In addition, LEDTV has significantly reduced its price since this year. It is estimated that after the new low-priced TV will be launched in the next year, the price will be more intimate and the power saving performance will be better, which will help to further increase product penetration.
In the LED lighting section, Dongbei said that the industry is in the early stage of the industry, and the layout of the Japanese channel industry has been ahead of schedule this year, and next year will be a hundred flowers.
After the 311 earthquake in Japan this year, Japan’s power-saving measures in the summer have deepened consumers’ awareness of power-saving, driving demand for LED bulbs to grow substantially. Recently, Korean LED manufacturers, with the support of the government, will initially focus on the domestic demand market in Korea before the establishment of lighting brands and international channels.
