New Autodesk Construction Cloud features help teams make early, more sustainable decisions
In the construction industry, approximately 70% of rework stems from a gap between design and what is actually feasible to build. As projects progress, changes become more complex and expensive. By prioritizing constructability during the design phase, teams can significantly reduce costly rework later on. Since most project value is created early—when errors are easier and cheaper to correct—it’s more important than ever to get things right from the start, making consistent communication a key factor in success.
To address this, we’re introducing new tools designed to help project teams make better decisions earlier, without requiring technical expertise or specialized software. These features will offer comprehensive support, enabling teams to prioritize tasks, evaluate trade-offs, rely on their instincts, and validate assumptions—leading to more informed choices.
Let’s explore how these updates will strengthen the link between design and execution.
**Access relevant information through early and frequent communication**
It’s essential for project teams to trust that their documents are accurate, up-to-date, and ready for construction. When information is outdated, hard to find, or irrelevant, it leads to confusion, disputes, and mistakes.
To tackle this, we’re launching **Correspondence**, a centralized hub for all project communications within Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC). This tool allows project leaders to store, search, and manage all correspondence in one place, making it easier to track key decisions and improve collaboration. Teams can now import messages directly from Outlook or Gmail, ensuring all communication is easily accessible and reducing the risk of miscommunication.
“Correspondence is a game-changer,†said Chris Rossetto, VDC Manager at Hansen Yuncken. “It could revolutionize how we manage project information and move toward a unified data environment. We’re excited about the future of this platform.â€
Additionally, to help field teams navigate complex design models, we’re introducing **Model Quality Workflows**. This release allows team members—from BIM managers to project engineers—to create custom views tailored to onsite needs. By providing access to clear, relevant models early, teams can boost installation efficiency and accuracy.
We’re also launching **Sheets Collection**, which simplifies the organization and access of drawings across multiple buildings. This feature helps eliminate the need for duplicate projects or complicated naming conventions, streamlining document management and keeping critical data in one place.
**Reduce technology complexity and simplify systems of record**
In the AEC industry, time is often wasted switching between apps, and information gets stuck in silos. With ACC, we aim to keep workflows within a single application and a shared system of record.
That’s why we’re also releasing **Bridge for Closed RFIs**, allowing users to share resolved requests for information across projects or accounts. This ensures all stakeholders have the answers they need, improving decision-making and maintaining valuable data throughout the project lifecycle.
Another recent addition is the **Embodied Carbon in Construction Calculator (EC3)** integration, which lets users perform carbon calculations directly within ACC. This empowers teams to make sustainable material choices while staying in their primary system of record.
These improvements reduce the burden of managing multiple tools, increasing productivity and enabling faster, smarter decisions.
**Boost individual productivity and maintain project transparency**
Manual processes and a disconnect between 2D and 3D workflows often lead to poor decisions that affect schedules and budgets. Our latest releases focus on enhancing transparency by delivering only the most relevant information to teams at the right time.
By simplifying access to accurate, up-to-date data, we’re helping teams work more efficiently and make better decisions. The goal is to empower construction professionals with the insights they need, when and where they need them, to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget.
