Chicago FD Still Alarm 3-23-13

Here's what Steve Redick shared:

4046 Van Buren – Saturday. I responded to this call because it was advertised as a fire in a building marked with a red 'X'. This was the first time I encountered the new safety marking system in action. The markings are either a red square, a square with one slash, or a square with an X, and they indicate the level of danger in order of severity. Before any interior operations can begin, the structure must be assessed and approved by the incident commander. I think this kind of signage will become very common on fire scenes in the future. I also got a good shot of one of the new utility vehicles used by the department.
