China's imports of industrial sewing machines decreased by 11.9% year-on-year

In the first half of 2012, China’s imports of industrial sewing machines totaled 85.121 million US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 11.9%, while imports amounted to 30000 units, a year-on-year decrease of 31.0%. The average import price was 2,841.45 US dollars/set, a year-on-year increase of 27.7%.

In the month of June, China’s industrial sewing machine imports amounted to US$219.47 million, a year-on-year increase of 56.6% and a month-on-month increase of 95.7%. Imports amounted to 5713 units, a year-on-year decrease of 19.0% and a year-on-year increase of 61.3%. The average import price was US$3,841.70 per unit. This was a year-on-year increase of 93.4%, an increase of 21.3% over the previous period.

Calculated according to the amount of imports, Japan, China and Germany are the top three sources of imports of industrial sewing machines in China. In the first half of 2012, China imported 48.607 million U.S. dollars from Japan, a year-on-year decrease of 21.4%; re-imported 17.5076 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 806.8% year-on-year; imported 7.726 million U.S. dollars from Germany, a decrease of 37.7% year-on-year. Among them, Japan’s market share decreased from 63.9% in the first half of 2011 to 57.1% in the first half of 2012; the re-import market share increased from 2.0% in the first half of 2011 to 20.6% in the first half of 2012; the German market The share decreased from 12.8% in the first half of 2011 to 9.1% in the first half of 2012.

In the first half of 2012, China imported a total of 84,544,400 U.S. dollars worth of industrial sewing machines from the top 10 importing countries and regions, which accounted for 99.3% of China's imports of all industrial sewing machines in the first half of the year. The countries and regions of import rankings from 4th to 10th are China Taiwan, the Czech Republic, South Korea, Italy, the Netherlands, Vietnam, and the United States.
