Submersible Pump's Common Faults and Analysis

Submersible pumps often encounter problems such as oil leakage, electrical leakage, tripping, failure of lift, impeller rotation, low flow, and low speed in use. The following detailed analysis of these common faults is provided below:

1, the impeller speed is low, the lift can not reach

Many customers discovered that the actual lift did not reach the standard lift when they started using the submersible pump they had just bought. The measurement found that the speed was also low. This situation may be the wiring is not correct, it is recommended to change the fire line. It is also possible that the submersible pump is inferior and the lift cannot reach.

2, submersible pump water power, flow rate

Remove the submersible pump and check that the rotor rotates flexibly and the rotor can be turned on. The dismantling of the water pump revealed that the submersible pump was loose between the shaft and the bearing at the lower end, and the rotor moved downwards, so the rotor could not rotate and the output was small. Use appropriate gaskets between the rotor and the bearings to move the rotor up and install the test machine. Failures can be eliminated.

3, after power, the impeller does not turn

After power on, the submersible pump has a humming sound and the impeller does not turn. Cut off the power supply and turn the impeller at the inlet. If it cannot be moved, the rotor is stuck. The submersible pump can be dismantled to check if the ball is broken due to the ball breakage at the lower end of the rotor; if the impeller can be toggled, but the impeller is not turned after the power is turned on, the cause of the failure may be the severe wear of the bearing, and the magnetism generated by the stator will attract the rotor when energized. And can not rotate. Replace the bearing and then assemble the pump, toggle the impeller flexibly and troubleshoot.

4, oil spill

Submersible pump oil leakage is mainly due to the serious abrasion of the seal box, resulting in oil leakage in the seal box oil room or poor seal at the outlet box.

When the seal box oil chamber leaks, traces of oil are visible at the inlet section. There is a filler hole at the water inlet section. Unscrew the screw and observe whether the oil chamber is filled with water. If the oil chamber is flooded, the seal is poor and the seal box should be replaced to prevent the oil in the oil chamber from entering the motor. If the root of the submersible pump cable is oiled, it is an oil leak in the motor. It is generally caused by poor sealing seal plugs or unqualified leads after rewinding the motor; some are caused by rupture of the water pump terminal block. After the inspection is confirmed, the new product can be replaced. And measure the degree of insulation of the motor. If the insulation is not good, it should be dealt with in time and the oil in the motor should be replaced.

5, leakage

Leakage is the most common failure of submersible pumps, and it is also one of the most dangerous factors that endanger personal safety. The fault phenomenon is that when the knife is closed, the leakage protector in the transformer power distribution room will trip (if there is no leakage protector, it will be very dangerous and it will cause the motor to burn out). This is mainly due to the influx of water in the pump of the submersible pump, which causes the insulation resistance of the motor windings of the submersible pump to decrease, resulting in the action of the protector. In this case, use a R×10kΩ block of a rocker or multimeter to measure the motor windings with a certain leakage resistance to the housing. The long-term use of the submersible pump causes serious wear and tear on the end face of the mechanical seal, which causes water to infiltrate and wet the motor windings to form leakage currents. The disassembled submersible pump motor can be placed in a drying room or dried with a 100-200W incandescent bulb; the insulation resistance is measured to be infinite, and then the mechanical seal is replaced with a new one, and the pump can then be put into service.
