Local car companies have overseas Nuggets

According to the statistics of China Automobile Association Automobile Export Corporation, the export of automobile enterprises in May was 86,400, which was a decrease of 3.4% from the previous month and a decrease of 16.1% from the same period of last year. Among them, 245,900 passenger vehicles were exported, up 12.1% from the same period of last year; commercial vehicles were exported 156,400, which was 3.8% lower than the same period of last year.

Geely's strategic layout overseas exports to Eastern Europe as the main battlefield

On June 14, Geely Automobile issued an announcement saying that the export volume in May was 9,110, which was a year-on-year increase of 39%.

At present, Eastern Europe, including Russia and Ukraine, is currently the most important overseas market for Geely. Geely sold a total of 6,573 vehicles in Russia in January-April this year, a year-on-year increase of 64%. Among them, 2,312 units were sold in April, an increase of 88% year-on-year, and sales took the top position in the auto market in Russia in April. In the first four months of the year, about 4,800 vehicles were sold in Ukraine. The performance of the Geely Ukrainian auto market surpassed all of its overseas automobile markets. It has already been written by Ukrainian mainstream car media. Geely already has a “Ukrainian national car” model. Geely signed a joint venture agreement with the Belarusian Automobile Factory last year. According to the agreement, the two parties will invest in Belarus in 2013, with a total investment of 244.9 million U.S. dollars, and Geely's share of 32.5%, with a designed capacity of 120,000 vehicles. Pre-assembly production, with an annual output of 10,000 vehicles, the first model Geely SC7, followed by the SUV Geely GX7 models.

In addition, Geely also has export strategic arrangements in North Africa and South Africa.

Chery Automobile Exports 17,000 Targets This Year

In the past two years, Chery has been formulating a restructuring plan to overcome bottlenecks that hinder the development of Chinese automakers, but Chery's joint venture with foreign automakers is relatively slow.

Recently, Huang Huaqiong, the newly appointed Assistant to Chery General Manager, said in an interview that the company’s export target this year is 17,000 cars. This is still lower than the number of Chery's exports of 182,000 last year. Macquarie Securities believes that the lack of demand from Chery's major exporters, including Australia, Brazil and Chile, is the main reason for the decline in Chery's export volume this year.

Dongfeng Motor's overseas sales target is 100,000 this year

Last month, Dongfeng Motor Company held the 2013 Overseas Distributors Conference. Dongfeng Motor plans to increase the number of cars exported overseas this year by 18% from last year to reach 100,000 vehicles.

In the past, exports mainly consisted of commercial vehicles. Affected by the large environment, Dongfeng Motor Company increased the export of passenger vehicles this year. Among them, the micro-vehicle Dongfeng Xiaokang exports 25,000 vehicles in January-April this year, an increase of more than 10%, and its major export destinations are in Southeast Asia, the Americas, Africa and other countries and regions.

It is reported that under the framework of Dongfeng Autonomy, Dongfeng Motor Company will adapt the product according to different countries and regions for different types of vehicles. At the same time, it will increase the types of export vehicles, such as Fengshen A60, Jingyi SUV and Fengshen H30Cross. In terms of channel construction, Dongfeng Motor will establish two overseas sales companies and set up four overseas sales offices in South America, Africa, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia, adding 32 passenger car sales outlets and 74 commercial vehicle sales outlets.

Great Wall Motor's exports fell by nearly 10% in the first five months

On June 7, Great Wall Motor released the May sales and sales bulletin. According to express data, the company exported 6,628 vehicles in May and exported 33,453 units in the first five months of this year, a decrease of 11.8% from 37,931 units exported during the same period last year. Industry analysts believe that the decline in export sales is mainly related to the impact of the decline in exports of the entire automotive industry. In May, the entire automotive industry recorded a negative growth of 16%, and the passenger vehicle industry experienced a negative growth of 17%.

At present, Great Wall Motors has exported to more than 100 countries and established a marketing network in more than 80 countries around the world. Over 800 overseas networks have been established. Europe, Central and South America, the Middle East, Asia, Africa and Russia, Australia, South Africa, Italy, and Chile have become the major export regions and countries of the Great Wall.

Lifan is optimistic about building a new factory in East Africa market

On May 31, Lifan Motors announced that the company plans to invest another 20 million yuan in Ethiopia to build a second factory. The factory's annual design capacity will be 5,000-8,000 units, and it is expected to be put into production in November this year. The new plant will produce 6 cars and 3 mini cars, a total of 9 products. At present, the company's local production capacity is about 2,000 cars/year. After the new plant is completed, its production capacity will reach tens of thousands.

Li Gang, general manager of Lifan Automotive Trade Co., Ltd., said in an interview that Lifan Motors will use Ethiopia as a base to export cars to East African countries that have signed mutual tariff agreements with each other. Relevant statistics show that since its entry into the Ethiopian market in 2007, Lifan Motors’ cumulative investment in the region has reached US$13 million.

Li Xiaotang, secretary of the board of directors of Lifan Motors, said that in January-April this year, Lifan’s export value in overseas markets reached 196 million US dollars, an increase of 41.4% year-on-year.
