New tower ladder for Gurnee
I just got the update from E-ONE that they’ve started building the new tower ladder for the Gurnee fire department. This project is listed under shop order #140562, and it’s really exciting to see things moving forward.
I snapped a few photos while I was there today to give you an idea of what’s happening behind the scenes. The craftsmanship is impressive—every detail is carefully worked on, and it’s clear they’re committed to quality. In the first image, you can see the initial assembly taking place. The frame is being welded together with precision, and the attention to detail is evident in every weld bead.
In the second photo, the team is already working on integrating some of the hydraulic components that will power the ladder system. It’s fascinating to watch how each piece comes together to create such a specialized vehicle. The third image shows the early stages of the interior setup, where they’re starting to install the control panels and wiring harnesses. These systems are critical for ensuring the truck operates smoothly when it’s out in the field.
It’s amazing to think about how this truck will soon be helping protect the community. E-ONE always does great work, and I’m confident this ladder will exceed expectations. I’ll keep updating as more progress is made—it’s definitely a project worth following!
