PFC Aaron Toppens funeral in Mokena

Yesterday marked the funeral of PFC Aaron Toppens in Mokena. The Mokena Fire Protection District coordinated with several fire departments to provide a ceremonial honor guard along both sides of Wolf Road, which was used for the procession from the church to the cemetery. Fire companies from Frankfort, Peotone, Homer Township, Manhattan, New Lenox, and Palos Heights all participated in this heartfelt tribute.
The event was covered by Dylan Konchan, who captured several images of the emergency vehicles and units on scene. Among the equipment seen were an emergency communications unit, a fire department rehab unit, ambulances, an American LaFrance fire engine, a fire department ATV, a Pierce fire truck, and a Snorkel fire truck. These vehicles played a crucial role in supporting the ceremony and honoring the fallen service member.
