Chicago FD treats multiple patients during Stanley Cup celebration

From Asher Heimermann's post: According to the Chicago Fire Department's Media Affairs team, out of the two million people who turned up for the Blackhawks victory parade, medical teams responded to 41 cases primarily involving heat-related issues, many occurring close to the parade route. The medical bus, stationed at Michigan and Adams, was joined by fire engines positioned along Michigan Avenue and Congress Plaza. Paramedics were also seen patrolling the area on bicycles and all-terrain vehicles (ATVs). For more photos from the event, click here. The use of bikes and ATVs seemed particularly effective in navigating through the dense crowd quickly. I couldn’t help but admire how well-prepared the city was for such a massive public gathering, even under challenging weather conditions. I’ve always been impressed by how the Chicago Fire Department manages these large-scale events. Their ability to adapt and respond so efficiently is something they should be proud of. It’s not every day you see such a high level of preparedness combined with quick response times. As someone who loves photography, I was thrilled to capture some unique shots of the medical teams in action. These images really tell the story of how critical their role is during events like this. Stay hydrated if you were there, and kudos to all the first responders who kept everyone safe!
