By Lynelle Cameron, Senior Director, Sustainability It’s time to act. Today marks the release of our 7th sustainability report, Sustainability in Action 2015. But as we face urgent global challenges, it’s clear that reporting on progress is no longer enough. We need real, measurable change—and that’s exactly what we’re committing to today. We are pledging to power our entire business with 100% renewable energy. This isn’t just a goal—it’s a step toward a more sustainable future for all of us. Climate action is no longer optional. In 2015, I believe we’re at a turning point. Individuals, companies, governments, and investors are coming together to take bold steps to reduce emissions, adapt to climate impacts, and build a more resilient world. Climate change is one of the most pressing issues of our time, and it demands collaboration across industries, borders, and ideologies. By committing to 100% renewable energy, we’re not only reducing our environmental footprint—we’re helping drive the global shift toward clean energy that we all need. This commitment builds on the work we’ve done over the past year. Here’s a snapshot of what we achieved: With every achievement, we push ourselves to go further. Our renewable energy commitment is part of a broader strategy to scale clean energy solutions that benefit both people and the planet. We’re working closely with conservationists, business leaders, and policymakers to make this vision a reality. As the world prepares for COP21 in Paris this December, we see unprecedented momentum. Companies, cities, and civil society are uniting to advocate for a low-carbon future. We’re proud to join RE100, a global initiative led by The Climate Group, and to support We Mean Business in driving corporate climate action ahead of the conference. Local governments are also playing a vital role. In California, where we’re based, cities like San Francisco are leading the way in sustainable development. As they host the 83rd Conference of Mayors later this month, we look forward to collaborating on smart, resilient, and eco-friendly urban planning. Our renewable energy commitment aligns with San Francisco’s 0-50-100 Roots Climate Action goals and supports similar efforts around the world. Finally, we’re inspired by our customers who are redefining what’s possible through design. From WindPax’s clean energy solutions in developing regions to QBotix’s solar tracking systems, the design-led revolution is accelerating. Together, we're building a future where innovation and sustainability go hand in hand. The future of making things is about designing within planetary boundaries. That’s why we’re committed to 100% renewable energy. Join us in shaping a cleaner, smarter, and more sustainable world.
